TRANSFORMATIVE ART + HEALING

Anyone who has overcome great difficulties that changed them forever has been a phoenix. When despair comes, life seems like scorched earth; we are so close to perdition that we could touch the devil's mustache. Then, a fire from within takes over, and a new wind picks up—life emerges stronger than ever.

ARTIST STATEMENT

This painting intends to capture strength and transcendence that extend beyond the limitations of mortal existence. The openness of subject of ‘The Golden Phoenix’ allows her to tap into a myriad of dimensions vibrating at the core of her being. An ancestral presence is intertwined with the woman’s life thread in the spiritual realm, where time is inconsequential and all souls are united.

Beneath the starry night sky, the ancestors watch, always present. Other versions of yourself from various times and dimensions accompany you. The spirits of the spaces between spaces appear as orbs in the indigo vibrational field.

The Holy Spirit, symbolized by the bird and its trail of white light, weaves through her existence, stitching together every particle of her heart. This intricate connection fortifies her, enabling her heart to bear the radiant weight of the golden light carried by the flying phoenix.

In this painting, the phoenix is accompanied by two doves, symbolizing the inner peace that arises from the ashes of the past’s destruction. The golden phoenix is now liberated from its grasp.

The message resonates: trust in your process; you are not alone. Guidance surrounds you, and the interconnected threads of existence are intricately woven together.

DETAILS

The Phoenix

At the end of its life, the phoenix is said to burst into flames and be consumed by fire. However, from the ashes of its own destruction, a new, young phoenix arises, symbolizing renewal, regeneration, and the cyclical nature of life. The phoenix is a symbol of immortality, resurrection, and transformation. Its fiery rebirth is seen as a powerful metaphor for overcoming adversity, emerging stronger from challenges, and embracing change.

The Phoenix is one of my most fundamental archetypes, activated by your courage and resilience when you need them most. You can feel your own power lifting you to your highest state of consciousness. Your efforts are fueled by the energy of the phoenix, propelling you to push yourself to your greatest standards. You emerge from the flames the moment what was consuming you is resolved. Because you love yourself enough, you observe the fire burning away your impurities, only letting go of what you are ready to release. Your essence feels refreshed. You rise out of the fire; the force that was pulling you down reverses, propelling you to renewed strength.

Doves

Doves hold a special significance for me, rooted in my upbringing as a Protestant where I always wore a Huguenot cross around my neck. This cross, comprised of two parts, features a descending dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Within the painting, the doves serve as the burning phoenix’s entourage, aiding in its ascent. They provide protection and guidance, directing the phoenix towards the illuminating light.

Traditionally recognized as symbols of peace and love, the doves in this artwork play a vital role in facilitating the phoenix’s transfigurational journey. Peace represents the culmination of this alchemical rebirth, awaiting the phoenix on the other side.

The underlying message conveyed by this painting is one of choice: Peace emerges as a deliberate decision, signaling our readiness to embrace inner harmony and balance.

Feather Mask

Entering a state of presence involves unlocking the doors to subtle perception. As focus deepens, the channels to various dimensions become clearer. With closed eyes and a silenced outer vision, akin to a quietened thinking mind, she disconnects from the mundane, the earthly, the samsara. Instead, she elevates her perspective to the realms of the spiritual and ethereal. She is in contemplation of the transformative power of presence.
